St. Ambrose Parish Mission Statement
St. Ambrose Parish is a vibrant faith-filled people, dedicated to worshiping God, to proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ, to enabling members for ministry, and to living together in the context of local community. We strive to reject sin and to live according to the values of the kingdom of God, emphasizing family life. We are sent to bring about the vision among our families and neighbors in our society, as part of the Diocese of San Angelo and the Roman Catholic Church.

  • Tribute to Mary
    On Friday, October 31, we will close the month of Mary with Mass at 6:30 pm, followed by
    a candlelight procession around Church while praying the Rosary in five languages. The
    procession will then lead to the Rosary Garden where a balloon Rosary will be released. A
    potluck supper will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited to bring their favorite
    dish. Mark your calendar for this special tribute to our Mother Mary!

  • Upcoming Youth Events
    Wednesday, Oct. 22: Junior Class will serve as ministers at the 6:30 pm Mass. Please be at the church
    no later than 6:15. Remember to be dressed appropriately for Church.
    Wednesday, Oct. 29: Trunk or Treat -- There will be a Hotdog Supper for our youth beginning at 6:00
    pm. All high school students are asked to decorate their vehicles and have snacks or candy to give away.
    There will be a prize for the best costume and vehicle. Each family is asked to bring a bag of candy to the
    CCD Office, if possible, by Oct. 22, or you can bring it when you come to the Hotdog Supper.
    Friday, Nov. 7: Huddle-Up will be held after the football game. Kids, drop off a 2-liter bottle of a favorite
    drink and a snack or chips at the Brethren Church prior to the football game. More details will follow.
    Saturday, Nov. 8: Soup Kitchen -- Youth Group members will be serving a meal at the Wesley Soup
    Kitchen, 301 W. 18th St. There will be two shifts open for workers: 9-11 am and 11am -1pm. We will
    need at least 8 members on each shift. Youth group members participating will need to bring 2 dozen
    cookies/snacks. If you can’t work and would like to send a dessert, you may do so. Please e-mail christine. to sign up for a work shift and/or bring a dessert. Reminder: If you have not
    visited the St. Ambrose Youth Group Facebook page lately, please do and “like” it so you can receive
    news feeds.

    Upcoming CCD & Youth Group Events: 
    Wednesday, Oct. 8: Bring two 2-liter drinks for the Festival if you have not done so. 
    Wednesday, Oct. 8: Trash Pickup at 5:30 pm. Pizza will follow. Coaches have been notified to release you. FMI contact Jodie or Leon Braden. 
    Wednesday, Oct. 8: No CCD classes. 6:30-8:00: “Many” Clean-up. (See below.) 
    Wednesday, Oct. 22: Junior Class is responsible for the 6:30 pm Mass Ministries. 
    Wednesday, Oct. 29: “Trunk or Treat.” There will be a hot dog supper for youth beginning at 6:00 pm. All High School students are asked to prepare a decorated vehicle with a game or candy to give away. There will be contests for best costume and best vehicle. Each family is asked to donate a bag of candy, no later than Oct. 22, to the CCD Office on an evening of classes. 

    I would like to thank Karen Fuchs for chairing the Huddle-up this month and to all other parents who made this an exciting event for our youth. We had quite a turn-out after the football game. Thanks again for your help. Details on upcoming events will be posted later.

  • Rosary
    October is the month of Mary. Fr. Joe plans to have the Rosary each evening during October in the homes of St. Ambrose and Holy Family parishioners. The statue of Our Lady of Fatima will move from home to home. There will be a sign-up sheet available in the back of Church at St. Ambrose. Holy Family Parishioners are asked to call the Parish Office to reserve a date.

  • St. Ambrose ACTS
    ST. AMBROSE IS SPONSORING ACTS FOR WOMEN -- NOV. 6-9 Activities will focus on Adoration, Community, Theology and Service. The ultimate goal is to deepen relationships with Jesus Christ. The cost of the retreats is 180, with a deposit required at registration to reserve a place at the retreat. Please note: Scholarships are available on an “as needed” basis. Sendoff is on Thursday and closing is at the 9 am Mass on Sunday. Round-trip transportation is provided.
