Ministry Opportunities

Listed below are some of the ministry opportunities at Saint Ambrose and Holy Family. We would love to have your help in any of these ministries! The Parish Office will be happy to provide more information on how to get involved 651-7551

Prayer Leaders - Volunteers are invited to lead the rosary and preside at the Stations of the Cross

Babysitting - various opportunities for babysitting on a regular or occasional basis

Communion Minister - help to distribute Holy Communion to the ill and homebound

Community Service - individuals interested in participating in local service projects and willing to provide occasional time and support for agencies or programs within our area.

Infant Baptism Preparation Classes - teaching the classes to the expectant parents and the godparents

Wedding Coordinator - ensuring that a couples' wedding day goes as smoothly as possible.

Liturgy Ministries:

Liturgy Committee - This group meets quarterly to plan for the liturgical seasons and special events.

Altar Servers - altar servers assist the priest during Mass. Girls and boys in 4th grade an older are welcome to serve. Training is held periodically.

Readers - Readers proclaim the Word of God at Mass. Readers should be comfortable with public speaking. Practicing Catholics, high school juniors and older, are welcome to serve.

Ushers - Ushers distribute liturgy aids and bulletins, greet people as they enter church, assist with seating, collect the offering, and straighten the church for the next liturgy. High school age and older

Eucharistic Ministers - Eucharistic Ministers assist the celebrant in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass. Practicing Catholics, high school seniors and older, are welcome to serve.

Sacristans - Sacristans act as coordinators for Mass by preparing the gifts for the Eucharistic celebration, and making ready the needed vessels, Lectionary, Sacramentary, and other items. Adult Catholics are welcome to serve.

Church Environment - Church decorations change seasonally and for special events. Volunteers are welcome to assist in creating a meaningful and beautiful environment for worship.

Music Ministry:

Youth Choir - Open to all youth through the 11th grade. Practice is held Wednesday evening 5:45-6:30 prior to Religious Education classes. The Youth Choir sings at masses involving youth ministry and at the Community Thanksgiving Service.

Mass Choir - 12th grade through adult. Practice is held immediately following the 9:00 a.m. Sunday mass. This choir sings at most 9:00 a.m. masses and Holy Days

Men's Choir - 12th grade through adult men. Practices are held Monday nights at 8:00 p.m.. this choir sings at funerals, weddings, other special occasions, and occasional 9:00 a.m. masses
