Today we are introducing a new addition into our weekly bulletin. I’ll call it “The Youth Corner.” This past Sunday many of our youth participated in our annual community project cleaning yards of some of our elderly parishioners. Many of our high school youth group members and a few parents went to various yards within the parish communities of Wall and Mereta and spent their Sunday afternoon cleaning up dead shrubs, raking leaves, filling pot holes, etc. and having a fun time in the afternoon sun. This truly was a rewarding time, especially when all work was completed, the kids were rewarded with pizza and sodas. I’d like to thank Wanda Gully for arranging this activity, Fr. Chinna for his hard work and, of course, the kids and parents for their assistance as well. I’ll post future activities for both our high school and junior high youth groups as the events come up. Currently some activities coming up include the Rabies Clinic (April 13), Spring Chicken Affair (Apr. 17), Stations of the Cross (Dress Rehearsal April 13 during CCD Class, with actual presentation on Good Friday morning at 10:00 am), and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life (May 20). Be watching the bulletin and e-mails for more details. Your brother in Christ, Deacon Dan |
